Whitestone - Viognier

The South African winery Capelands Estate combines terroir character with typicality in their Viognier "Whitestone" and scores with an excellently balanced, summery fresh white wine. Soft green reflections dance in the straw yellow and the nose reveals notes of apricot and light floral accents. Surprisingly full-bodied on the palate, with fine, juicy acidity and a creamy structure. In the finish an echo of stone fruit and white flowers. The "Whitestone" goes wonderfully with light appetizers with vegetables, fried rice dishes, ceviche or spicy fried fish or seafood or simply as an aperitif.

In 2004, the desire to make his own wine drew Johann Innerhofer, who was born in South Tyrol, to South Africa. Thus the Capelands Estate winery was born. Located barely 50 km east of Cape Town, Innerhofer makes use of the unique interplay of climate and soil conditions and presses great wines with a distinctive terroir character.
